Gail McFarland was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Cleveland State University, where she was a psychology major with a minor in special education. She is a certified aerobics and American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid instructor. Her hobbies include reading, writing, yoga, Pilates, swimming, cycling and enjoying far too many of Atlanta's wonderful restaurants.
